Before & Afters

This is BY FAR my favorite part.  The Before & Afters.  It is so rewarding to see your "vision" actually take shape and when your flipping houses....its sorta what keeps you going.  The idea of flipping is great...but its those long hours, trips to the store, making lists etc...that can really dampen your spirit and add to a lack of motivation.
We are just over three weeks into our flip...and its already showing signs that we are making progress.  Our primary focus when we moved in was to get the boys rooms ready...so that they would have their own "space" while we continued working on the house.  Well...their rooms are almost complete...and they both look SO GOOD!  Here's a little preview...

Avery's Room..  Before

Avery's Room... After

The Hubster says that he wants me to post MORE pics...so here are a few shots of the madness that took place while we were transforming this room.
P.S.  Just in case its hard to tell...this is what we've done so far:  tore down wallpaper, sanded walls, primed walls, painted walls, painted stripes, hung new fan (light), spray painted vents, painted closet, changed outlets from black to white...and put the crib back together. Unpacking of boxes is in progress :)
P.S.S. If you notice the light fixture in the corner, don't be alarmed. It's coming down...eventually...we just disconnected it this weekend...and plan on reusing that light in the foyer.  OH..and WHO STINKIN knows why the previous owner hung the lights in the CORNER?!?!
Okay..so now you can see some more pics.....Enjoy!

After we had finished de-wallpapering....is that a word?!

Rhiannon and I...tearing down more wallpaper. She.is.the.best!

Austin & Uncle AJ...priming the walls

Liz & AJ...helping us out!  LOVE them!

New Carpet. ahhhhh. If only you could FEEL how soft it is :)
So, there you have it. Avery's room...almost complete. Austin's before & after's are next....

The toll it takes....

Austin in Time Out...

Obviously, this is my little.big. man Austin...who is fast asleep on the steps. Why...you are probably wondering...is he asleep on the stairs. Well this is what happens when your children's lives are all in disarray from moving and packing and having a crazy...crazy schedule.  Austin was busted (which at the moment I cant remember why)...and so he was in "time out" on the stairs.  I had asked him to sit there...and I continued in my quest to pack the entire house. Well I must have waited too long to have the "do you know why your in time out" speech because this is what I found while coming down the stairs ....a few minutes later! (just a few)  :)
My boys are my pride and joy...and as a mom...its a hard balance to keep your children happy...and take on the lovely task of selling your home...packing...and moving. They are resilient ..I'm told...so I can't worry too much. So this is me..announcing that I'm not a perfect mom...and that when your moving...your kids will suffer in certain ways...BUT they'll make it....and I guess ...well ...so will I :)

SOLD! Goodbye Noble County...Hello Whitley.

BINKEY- Our New HOME

Our First Home!  Its SOLD!  We're sad...but what a wonderful ,wonderful first house.
We did it! In this crazy market we hear of...we sold our home, for profit, and just a few thousand dollars under our asking price ( in 2 months)! So take that "Mr. & Mrs your never gonna sell your house for that price"! We feel super good about the sale of our home, and the purchase of our latest and greatest project...the Binkley Flip. We are just three weeks into our project there and are already seeing HUGE changes. (thanks to the hubster and his amazing handy-work)
We plan on sharing projects that we undertake for you to see...and so that maybe you'll be daring enough to try them once you see how..(ah hem)...EASY..they are :) Don't be a hater though...we are not professionals and don't claim to be..just BIG TIME DIY'ers trying to further our future goals and set a firm foundation for our little men's futures too!
* Just a side note...when i say DIY'ers...I'm so totally not joking. My husband feels as if HE can do it all..except maybe for mudding and taping drywall. Other than that...he'll tackle the job...head on...and it will get done..eventually.
Here is a picture of our new home...and of course, our first house.  So much to be excited about!
